Checked October 5, 2026. Lindy's own pages disagree on several details, including its integration count, its plans and which plans include computer use. Where they conflict, we show both. Lindy's details come from its site, docs and reviews. Octopus22's come from our own product.
Terms used: single sign-on (SSO) lets staff log in with their company account, and SAML and OIDC are two kinds of it. SCIM adds and removes users automatically from your company directory. MCP is a standard way to plug other tools into an AI.

What each one is
Lindy calls itself "The AI Teammate That Lets You Do More" and "the AI employee that connects to all your tools" (Lindy). Founded by Flo Crivello, it began as a no-code agent builder in 2023, relaunched as an iMessage assistant in February 2026, and became Lindy Teammate, a Slack-native AI employee, on August 10, 2026 (Lindy blog, Wisdom AI).
Octopus22 lets you hire AI teammates with names and roles. Each works on its own screen of a cloud computer, uses your apps, and shares one Company Brain memory. They work in shared conversations with your people, where an AI model decides which teammates each message is for.
The biggest difference: one teammate or several
Lindy is one teammate with two sides (Lindy docs):
- In Slack channels, it's shared and keeps answers "public-safe", with a limited set of tools.
- In your DMs, it's private and uses your email, calendar and texts.
Octopus22 is several teammates:
- One for sales, one for support and so on, each with its own instructions.
- They hand work to each other, run helpers in parallel, and can hire a new teammate when needed.
Where they work
Lindy meets you where you already are: Slack, email (drafts land in your inbox), iMessage and SMS, a web app, and a Chrome extension inside Gmail. In channels it replies in a thread when @mentioned, then decides whether follow-ups are meant for it. It doesn't work as a chat assistant in Microsoft Teams, though its notetaker joins Teams meetings.
Octopus22 has its own web app. You talk to teammates privately or in shared conversations with colleagues, and an AI model routes each message to the right teammates without mentions. There's no Slack, email or iMessage presence.
If you don't want another app, Lindy wins here.
Computer, browser and apps
Lindy:
- When a tool has no integration, it "can drive the browser the way a person would" (Lindy docs). Which plans include computer use is stated differently on its pricing page and in its docs.
- Runs code and shell commands with saved credentials.
- Connects to 1,000 to 1,500+ apps, plus remote MCP servers.
Octopus22:
- Each teammate has its own screen on a cloud computer, with a browser that stays signed in. You can watch live and take over.
- 500+ apps plus custom MCP.
Meetings, memory and skills
Meetings are a real Lindy strength. A visible notetaker joins Meet, Zoom and Teams calls, and transcripts go into a shared library anyone with access can ask questions about (Lindy docs). Octopus22 has no built-in meeting notetaker.
Memory:
- Lindy keeps memory as versioned files in three scopes: personal (private), team (editable only by owners and admins) and system (Lindy docs).
- Octopus22's Company Brain learns facts from your conversations automatically and keeps their history.
- Facts are company-wide by default, with personal preferences private.
- Anyone can correct or retract a company fact, but it can't hard-delete one.
- Facts learned in private chats are company-wide too, unless they're personal preferences.
Skills:
- Lindy markets 40+ skills, though its docs say skills are still rolling out gradually.
- Octopus22 lets you write, upload and assign skills per teammate.
What starts the work
Lindy routines run on schedules or on events: new emails, Slack messages, calendar events and meeting ends, with filters and dry runs (Lindy docs). Only admins can create workspace-wide routines.
Octopus22 teammates set their own schedules, but can't yet be started by outside events like a new email.
Approvals and control
Lindy:
- You set each integration to always allow, require approval or don't offer.
- Its docs note: "Guardrails apply in shared Slack threads only. Your web app chat, Slack DMs with Lindy, and iMessage and SMS aren't guarded" (Lindy docs).
- Audit logs are Enterprise-only.
Octopus22:
- In every chat: before a teammate sends, pays, deletes or cancels something through a connected app or in its browser, an AI check pauses it until the teammate's owner approves. Reading runs freely. Its own tools, like hiring a teammate or scheduling, and commands it runs on its own computer aren't checked.
- Owners can set each tool to "always allow", "always ask" or off.
- Its audit log covers approval decisions but not unguarded actions.
Security and compliance
| Lindy | Octopus22 | |
|---|---|---|
| SOC 2 | Type II | None yet |
| HIPAA | Yes, with a signed agreement (Enterprise) | Not offered |
| Single sign-on | Enterprise | OIDC, Ultra plan |
| SCIM | Enterprise | Users only, Ultra plan |
| Audit logs | Enterprise | Ultra plan |
| Training on your data | "Never used to train models" | Not used for training; model providers commit not to train on it |

Pricing and real monthly cost
Lindy bills every active user (Lindy pricing):
- Seats: from $29.99 a month for 3,000 credits. Someone who @mentions it once in Slack becomes a seat after a 7-day trial.
- Credits: pooled, about a cent each. Monthly credits don't roll over; $10 top-ups per 1,000 credits never expire.
- Plans: its docs still list Plus, Pro and Max plans at $30, $100 and $200 per user.
- Running out: the pricing page says it pauses, while the docs describe an optional overage at twice the normal rate.
Octopus22:
- $49, $99 or $199 per member a month, with 40,000, 80,000 or 160,000 credits per member, pooled across the team.
- Credits are model cost plus 25%. Included credits don't roll over; bought credits do.
- Work pauses when credits run out, unless you turn on auto-reload. Single sign-on needs the $199 plan.
- Enterprise: a custom plan with a security review and an SLA is available on request.
Estimated monthly cost for moderate use (about 6,000 Lindy credits per person a month):
| Team | Lindy | Octopus22 (Pro) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 person | About $60 ($29.99 seat + top-up) | $49 |
| 5 people | About $250 to $300 | $245 |
| 20 people | About $1,000 to $1,200 | $980, or $3,980 on Ultra with single sign-on |
These are estimates, not quotes. Included usage per seat is similar: about $40 a month of credits on Octopus22 Pro vs about $30 on Lindy's base seat. Credits buy different amounts of work on each platform, so run a real task during each trial and watch the meter.

Frequently asked questions
What is the main difference between Lindy and Octopus22?+
Lindy is one AI teammate that works inside Slack, email, iMessage and a web app, with a shared side in channels and a private side in each person's DMs. Octopus22 lets you hire several AI teammates with different roles, each on its own screen of a cloud computer, working together with your people in Octopus22's own workspace.
Which is cheaper, Lindy or Octopus22?+
Lindy starts lower at $29.99 per active user a month for 3,000 credits. Octopus22 Pro is $49 per member for 40,000 credits. For moderate use, both land in a similar range once you add Lindy's credit top-ups: roughly $60 vs $49 for one person, $250 to $300 vs $245 for five, and $1,000 to $1,200 vs $980 for twenty.
Does Lindy or Octopus22 work in Microsoft Teams?+
Neither works as a chat assistant inside Microsoft Teams. Lindy's notetaker can join Teams meetings. Octopus22 can use Teams as a connected app.
Do Lindy credits roll over?+
Lindy's monthly credits don't roll over, but credits you buy as top-ups never expire. Octopus22 works the same way: included credits don't roll over, purchased credits do.
Is Lindy or Octopus22 more secure?+
Lindy has SOC 2 Type II and offers HIPAA with a signed agreement, SSO and SCIM on Enterprise. Octopus22 has OIDC single sign-on, SCIM and an audit log on its Ultra plan, but no SOC 2 or HIPAA yet.
Can Lindy act without my approval?+
Lindy lets you set each integration to always allow, require approval, or don't offer, but its docs say these guardrails only apply in shared Slack threads, not in DMs, the web app or iMessage. Octopus22's approval check applies in every chat: before a teammate sends, pays, deletes or cancels something through a connected app or its browser, the owner must approve. Its own tools, like scheduling or hiring a teammate, aren't checked, and owners can set tools to always allow.
Who needs a paid seat on Lindy?+
Every active user is billed as a seat, including someone who @mentions Lindy once in Slack (after a 7-day trial for Slack joiners). On Octopus22, every member of your company is a paid seat.
Can Lindy make phone calls?+
Lindy works over iMessage and SMS and accepts voice notes. Its older product had a phone-call agent, but it isn't documented for the current Lindy Teammate. Octopus22 has dictation but no phone or voice calls.
